Animal Info & Noises

Squirrels

Squirrels only make noise during the day.  You will hear a lot of running around.  You will also hear some chewing and scratching if the animal is setting up their nesting area. Squirrels can go up and down the inside of your walls. If you hear him at the bottom of the wall don't feel he is stuck because in 99% of the cases we deal with they are not!  We have  many people call and say the squirrel is stuck in our attic.  We have trapped squirrels coming out of homes that have a broken back where their hind legs don't work any more and they still manage to climb the house and get in and out.  So they are not stuck.

The main squirrels that we have around here are the gray squirrel and the fox squirrel.  We also have black squirrels and white squirrels but they are gray squirrels that have a different color fur.

With our squirrel removal process we use a three cage set up to solve your problems quicker!

Raccoons

Raccoons only make noise at night. You can hear scratching, walking, and dragging noises.  There is no mistaking the noise a raccoon makes because it is very loud!  The common time to hear raccoons leave is: 8:30 to 10:30 pm.  They will be gone for 2 to 6 hours and return around 2:30 to 3:30 am.  Upon returning to your home they are a little quieter than when they left.

Skunks

Skunks don't make any noise.  If you have a very strong skunk smell in the house, this does not mean you have a skunk in the house! This odor can penetrate concrete like it is not even there. We have a scale of odor that we use here and it goes from 1 to 10.  Most skunks produce an odor around 4 to 6 and this still smells like skunk.  If the odor level goes above 6, it will start to smell more like rotten eggs or sewage.  Open the windows and air our the house for several hours.  Some home remedies are:  Burn vanilla candles for a short time and blow them out than relight them.  The smoke from the wick helps destroy the odor.  Next charcoal is a natural absorbant.  You can put some around the house but be careful if you have kids or pets because this could be a mess.  The odor's source is coming from under the concrete porch and we can't get to that area, or we could destroy the odor with a solution.

Skunks don't smell.  What they spray smells.  What makes them spray?  An opossum.  He goes in other animals holes and a fight between the two results, causing the skunk to spray.  Whoever stands their ground the longest will stay in the hole.  The smell won't make them leave.

We mount our traps directly to the animal's hole to ensure a quick animal removal and we won't trap any non-target animals.  This will cost you less. To prevent this problem in the future we recommend installing our heavy gauge wire in the ground around the concrete porches and decks.

Bats

Bats make noise at night only.  This noise can be mistaken for mice.  It is a scratching noise along with a screeching sound that they make.  Bats do hibernate in the winter but you will occasionally hear them when it gets to cold in the attic and they seek to come down into the house or when it starts to warm up and is time to come out for the night.  Bats come out 20 miutes before sun down and stay out a good share of the night.  They eat double their body weight in mosquitoes every night and our good to have around.  Just not in your attic.

Bats are nocturnal and so is our company. Call us we can help!

Mice

Mice only move at night.  It is easy to decide if this is what you have because you will only hear scratching!!!!!  You will not hear any running, walking, or movement.  Mice will pick one spot to do their scratching and in some cases two spots.  I know you are mouthing the words (no this is not a mouse I am hearing It's to loud).  You will always hear a raccoon walking.  You will always hear a squirrel running.  You can't hear a mouse run or walk because it does not weigh enough.

We can solve most mouse cases in a two week period.  Solving a mouse problem is done by two steps.  Step one: Remove the mice.  Step two: Close the entry holes.  Why do the first step without the second step?

Woodpeckers

Woodpeckers make a loud banging or pecking noise on the side walls of the home. They are looking to create a nesting area inside the wall where it is out of the weather and it is warm for when they have their young. This noise can be at any time during the day. Woodpeckers favor the early morning hours for looking for a nesting place. If you have random holes being pecked in you siding it is usually due to bugs that they are eating in the wood. These holes are the size of a pencil eraser. The nesting holes are about the size of a tennis ball.

Oppossums

Opossums don't make any noise. They live under front porches, decks, and sheds.  They are too lazy to dig there own holes and invade other animal's dens.  If a skunk were to spray and your home smells bad, this is usually the animal that upset the skunk.

With our removal technique we mount the trap directly to the hole and trap the target animal quickly.

WHAT THEY DAMAGE

Bees

Bees are only a problem in a wall or attic in the summer or fall months.  This noise sounds like a light scratching in the wall.  They can remove the back side of the drywall including the chalk and just leave a thin layer or paper between you and them.  Don't knock on the wall you might put your hand through and cause a very big problem!  An easy way to determine if this is what you are hearing is to look outside where you are hearing the noise and see if there is a small hole.  If you find a hole, watch to see if you see any bees flying in and out.

Birds

Birds can get into the attic through small gaps in the siding, soffits, or vents.  Sometimes when they get in the attic they can fall down the wall and get stuck.  You won't hear any chirping from the bird.  When in an area where it is stuck you will just hear: jumping and scratching.  Birds also live in prefab chimneys.  These chimney's  have a housing around the pipe or flu that comes through the roof.  This area is a perfect place for them to build a nest and block the gas flow of  hazardous gases from your furnace.  This is very dangerous.

If you see birds living in your prefab chimney.  Call immediately!

Birds also live in bathroom vents, stove vents, roof vents, and gable vents.  If they are in the stove or bathroom vent, remove them immediately!  You don't want any bird mites, nesting or feces on you in the bathroom or worse yet in your food on the stove.  Birds in any vents for your attic are also important to remove.  This stops the air flow in you attic and can cause your bills to run up due to excessive heat during the summer and block the humidity from escaping during the winter months.

With our quick service we can carefully remove the birds and nesting.  To prevent future problems we offer a full line of screens and covers.

Groundhogs

Groundhogs don't make any noise.  They can be found living under decks, porches, sheds, or wood piles. Groundhogs always dig themselves three holes (always).  The first two holes are found close together and the third hole is located a distance away as a safety hole. This animal only eats vegetation for example: flowers, roots of the grass, berries, etc.

With our removal technique we mount our trap to the hole. In some cases because of the three holes, we have no option but to bait the animal into a trap. We recommend the installation of our deck screening to prevent any future problems. The owner of All Wildlife Animal Eviction has earned the nickname "The Hogmaster" due to his abilities to trap these creatures when other companies simply cannot.
